Builders Suffer First Defeat of Season

DELHI, N.Y. – Drew Walton posted a double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds but cold shooting woes gave the Builders their first loss of the season with a 83-58 setback to Villa Maria on Sunday afternoon.

ON THE COURT:

In the first half, Drew Walton already notched a double-double with 10 of his 21 points and 12 rebounds. The Builders shot 30% from the floor and trailed by seven at the break despite Villa Maria shooting 42% from the field. Marion Moore led the Builders in the second half with 15 points but Villa Maria's offense found its rhythm, shooting 55% from the field.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:

  • Drew Walton posted his second consecutive double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds. 
  • Freshman Marion Moore scored all of his 15 points in the second half. 
  • Corey Joyner also posted a double-double with 11 points and career-high 10 assists. Joyner had 10 of the team's 13 assists in the game.
  • The Builders were out-rebounded 48-39 and out-worked in the paint with the Vikings holding a 50-36 advantage.
