Builders Come Up Short to Bridgewater 80-64

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Apprentice School men's basketball could not overcome a cold first half as they dropped an 80-64 contest to Bridgewater on Sunday afternoon.

ON THE COURT: The Builders could not get into a rhythm offensively as they shot 26% from the field and trailed by 21 at the break. The team was able outscore Bridgewater with 40 points in the second stanza but could not overcome the early deficit. Overall, the team shot 35% from the field and 17% from behind the arc.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:

  • Drew Walton had a team-high 17 points and nine rebounds.
  • Marion Moore posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Brandon Joyner and Corey Joyner each added 10 points for the Builders
  • The Builders were edged in the paint with the Eagles holding a 30-26 slim margin in the paint and a 44-40 edge on the boards.

UP NEXT: The Builders return home on Wednesday night as they host Johnson & Wales at 7 p.m. before breaking for the holidays. The team will continue its seven-game homestand with a matchup against Villa Maria on Friday, January 4th at 7 p.m.
