Big Week Begins Tonight for Builders Men's Basketball

MEN'S BASKETBALL WEEK PREVIEW

The Builders are coming off of a successful trip to Elizabth City in which they defeated Blue Lights College of Apex and Appalachain Bible. The hot start means that the Builders are 2-0 on the young season before a week that features matchups against 2 NCAA Division 1 opponents and a top USCAA team.

It began with a 81-69 win over Blue Lights College of Apex on Friday night. Drew Walton led the way with 17 points for the Builders. The Builders continued their fast start on Saturday with a 112-58 win over Appalachain Bible on Saturday afternoon. Marion Moore led the way 18 points. The two wins give Head Coach Tim Sparks first career victories as Head Coach of the Builders.

THIS WEEK

The Builders next game is tonight at Hampton University. The game tonight is an exhibition but a good test for the Builders. The Pirates are a member of the Big South Conference and are an NCAA Division 1 team. The Pirates are currently 1-0 on the season. Thursday night the Builders will travel to the Southside to take on the Norfolk State Spartans, another NCAA Division 1 team that competes in the MEAC Conference. This game is also an exhibition. The Spartans are in Oxford Mississippi for a matchup agains Ole Miss tonight before coming home to face the Builders on Thursday. The Spartans are currently 1-0 on the season

Saturday is not an exhibition and will be a real test and key game in regards to the USCAA rankings. The Builders travel to Washington Adventist to face a team that finished 22-11 last season and competed in the NAIA National Tournament. Washington Adventist recently defeated NCAA Division 1 Howard University in an exhibition game.
