Builders Steal Road Game From Bears

Builders Steal Road Game From Bears

The Apprentice School Builders found themselves down for the majority of this contest, but made enough big plays late in the game to secure a 93-92 victory over the Bears of Clinton College. With 1.4 seconds left in the second half, Junior Point Guard, Corey Joyner found himself at the free throw line with the game on the line. He sank both to give the Builders their first lead of the contest. A desperation heave from Clinton hit the ceiling and was ruled out of bounds, as time expired.

Apprentice had five players in double figures. Corey Joyner led the way with 21 points, Marion Moore contributed 16 points off the bench, Brandon Joyner finished with 15 points, Vershawn Eley had 11 points and Drew Walton finished with 13, which puts him 11 points away from 1,000 for his 3-year career as a Builder. Caleb Mielewski and Ken Smith both had solid contributions of 7 points a piece and Sam Morris had 3.

The Builders are back in action Saturday, February 1st at Johnson & Wales (NC). The EMAC contest is scheduled for a 1pm tip-off.
