Men's Basketball Crests Century Mark in Win Over Appalachian Bible

NEWPORT NEWS - Shooting over 50 percent from the floor, the Apprentice School men's basketball team put up its season high in points scored, beating Appalachian Bible 106-48 Friday night.

The Builders opened the game on a 37-7 run through the first 12 minutes and never looked back, putting up a 50-25 lead by halftime and outscored the Warriors, 58-21, in the second half.

  • All 14 Builders ended in the scoring column with four players finishing in double figures, led by Kurij Harrell and CJ Highsmith's 12 points each. Avin Hawkins added 11 in his return to the lineup, while Mikel Miller contributed 10 points in a team-high 24 minutes of action.
  • Apprentice shot just shy of 52 percent from the floor, hitting 11-of-31 three pointers.
