Brandon Joyner just completed his first season as an assistant coach at The Apprentice School after completing a 4-year career as a player.
 
Joyner is a native of Hampton, VA and played at Hampton High School. During his time with the Crabbers, he won a state championship in basketball, was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with honors.
 
As a player at The Apprentice School, Joyner was a 4-year letter-winner. He is considered one of the all-time best 3-point shooters in school history hitting a total of 125 in his career. During his 4 years he averaged 8.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. During his senior season, the team won the 2019-2020 EMAC Tournament Championship. He was also a 2017-2018 Coaches' Award winner and a 2-year member of the Builder Athlete Leadership Council.
 
In 2021 Joyner, who is a third-generation Shipbuilder, became a Graduate of The Apprentice School and is still employed as an X36 Rigger. 
 
Joyner's primary responsibilities will be working with the guards, recruiting, and handling the team's travel arrangements.
