HAMPTON, VA. -- The Apprentice School golf team shot a 321 round on Friday under miserable weather conditions to win the Builder Challenge at The Woodlands Golf Course.
Junior Wade Traynham took the medalist honor with a three-over-par 72 on the 5,391-yard course. The event started under cloudy skies, but not long after it started a cold front came through and dropped the temperatures 20 degrees in the span of a few holes.
Fellow junior Daniel Campbell was the next low man for the Builders with a 76 and sophomore Michael Hastings was next with a 78 to lead Apprentice Maroon. Christopher Newport University's B team was next with a 332 and Apprentice School Maroon was third with a 359.
Next up for the golf team will be the annual Glen Heath Memorial Tournament on April 5-6 at Fords Colony in Williamsburg.
