Golf Team Sits Eighth After Round One Of Glenn Heath Memorial

First Round Results

WILLIAMSBURG, VA -- The Apprentice School golf team shot a 325 round on Monday and currently sits eighth in the Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial tournament held at Fords Colony Marsh Hawk Course.

Christopher Newport University leads the 14-team event with a nine-over-par 297 round.  They hold an eight-shot lead over Lynchburg College White with a 305.  Averett University and Christopher Newport's B team are tied for third with 310 rounds.

Conrad Anguera of Lynchburg College leads the medalist race with a one-under-par 71 over the 6,650-yard Marsh Hawk course layout.  Joseph Evans, III of CNU is second at even-par 72, while Nathan Daly of Averett and Chris Olsen of CNU are tied for third at 73.

Daniel Campbell and Wade Traynham are tied for tenth to lead the Apprentice School Maroon team with five-over-par 77.  Michael Hastings is next in line for the Gold team with an 82 to be in a tie for 33rd out of 70 participants.

The Apprentice School Gold team currently sits in 13th place with a 384 total.  Leading that team is senior Kyle Center with an 87 to be in a tie for 54th place.

The final round will start at 8 am on Tuesday.
