WINCHESTER, VA. -- The golf team chopped nine strokes off its first round total and finished fifth in the Shenandoah University Invitational on Monday in Winchester, Va. Apprentice School shot a 343 total for a 695 two-day score.
Junior Daniel Campbell was the low man on Monday with a nine-over-par 81 to finish at 173 and a tie for 18th place. Fellow junior Wade Traynham was the low man for the tournament as he shot an 82 on Monday for a two-day total of 166 and a tie for 12th.
N.C. Wesleyan was the overall winner of the tournament with a second round of 307 and a two-day total of 601. Shenandoah was second with a 335 second round score and a 647 two-day total.
The final event of the fall will be the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships starting next Monday at Penn State University Blue Course in State College, Pa.
