Builder Golfers Sit Third After Round One Of USCAA Nationals

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Apprentice School golf team currently sits in third place after round one of the 2009 USCAA National Championships after carding a team total of 317 over the Penn State University Blue Course on Monday.

Rochester College (Mich.) leads the 12-team event with a 307, followed by Penn State Wilkes-Barre with a 315.  Penn State Mont Alto is in fourth place with a 320, followed by the defending champions Penn College with a 323.  The 317 by the Builders was their lowest four-person round of the fall season.

The low man for the Builders was sophomore Kyle Radcliff who carded a four-over-par 76 to be in a tie for fifth-place in the 73-person field.  Senior Ryan Sweet was next with a 78 to be in a tie for eighth place.  The medalist through round one was Kevin Reiber from Penn State Mont Alto with a 73.

The final round begins at 9 am on Tuesday morning.
