B.J. Maben Finishes 16th At Prestigious Eastern Amateur Golf Tournament

Apprentice School Assistant Golf Coach B.J. Maben competed in the 54th annual Eastern Amateur Golf Tournament last weekend at Elizabeth Manor Golf Course in Portsmouth finishing tied for 16th in the 144-player field.

Dominic Bozzelli won the event with a 15-under-par 265 total that included a final-day 64.  This tournament has a prestigious list of past champions including Lanny Wadkins, Ben Crenshaw, Andy Bean and Curtis Strange

Maben finished tied for 16th place in the prestigious event with a three-under-par 277 for the four rounds.  He shot a one-under 69 on Thursday and a one-over par 71 on Friday to sit at even-par for the event and make the cut by four strokes.  Over the weekend he carded rounds of three-under-par 67 on Saturday and an even-par 70 on Sunday to finish with a 277 total.  Maben tied with first round leader Aaron Stewart, son of former PGA standout Payne Stewart, along with two others.
