FARMVILLE, Va. -- The Apprentice School golf team currently sits in tenth place after round one of the Hampden-Sydney Invitational held at The Manor Golf Course in Farmville on Monday. On a 6,993-yard course that started very soggy and ended under clearer skies, the Builders shot a 342 round.
Freshman Ben Hunter was the low man for the team with an 80 to be in a tie for 28th place in the 63-player field. Seniors Daniel Campbell and Wade Traynham were next with 86 to be in a tie for 44th place.
Bridgewater College leads the event with a 298, followed by Averett (303), Randolph-Macon (309) and the host Hampden-Sydney (310).
The final round will tee off on Tuesday at 8:30 am.
