Freshman golfer Ben Hunter was named on Tuesday as the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Golfer of the Week for the week ending October 2.

Hunter, a rigger apprentice from Suffolk, Va., finished eighth out of 63 golfers in the Hampden-Sydney Invitational on September 27-28 as he carded an 80-72 for a 152 total.  He shot even-par on the second round to help the Builders shave 30 strokes off their first round total to take eighth place in the event.

He currently leads the team in lowest stroke average (77.9) which ranks him sixth in the USCAA in scoring average.

The Builders next participate in the 2010 USCAA National Championships held at the Penn State University Blue Course in State College, Pa. from October 11-12.
