Golf Team Sits Second After Day One At USCAA Nationals - Hunter Leads Individually

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Apprentice School golf team shot a 312 total on Monday to finish one stroke out of the lead after day one of the 2010 US Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships at the Penn State University Blue Course.

Freshman Ben Hunter leads the 89-player event after a two-under-par 70 over the 6,686-yard course at Penn State University. 

Defending champion Rochester (Mich.) College leads the event with a 311 score, followed by Apprentice School (312), Lindenwood-Belleville University (Mo.) at 316, Penn State Wilkes Barre (321) and Penn State Mont Alto (324) to round out the top five in the 14-team event.

The final round will start at 8 am on Tuesday morning with the award ceremony to follow.
