Hunter Wins Medalist Honor At Marlin Invitational - Team Tied For Fourth

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. -- Freshman Ben Hunter drained an eight-foot putt on the second playoff hole to win the individual medalist honor on Sunday at the Marlin Invitational at Bayville Golf Club.

As a team, the Builders shot a 330 round to finish with a 641 total to tie Hampden-Sydney for fourth place in the event.  Randolph-Macon won the team title with a 621, followed by Lynchburg (629) and Wake Tech (630).

This is the second tournament he has won this season as Hunter captured the USCAA National Championship in October at State College, Pa.  He shot a 78 on Sunday to finish with a 148 total. 

Other Apprentice School participants included Wade Traynham (79-156) who finished seventh, Daniel Campbell (81-166) and Kyle Mutter (92-171).
