Hunter Takes Second Straight Medalist Honor As Golf Team Finishes Second At Lynchburg

FOREST, VA. – Freshman Ben Hunter earned his second straight medalist honor with a two-putt on the second playoff hole as The Apprentice School golf team finished second in the Lynchburg Invitational on Monday.

Two weeks ago at the Virginia Wesleyan Marlin Invitational, Hunter won a playoff for medalist honors on the second hole.  He copied that feat on Monday with a two-putt for par on the second hole of a playoff with Dusty Scott of Lynchburg to take the medalist honor with a two-day total of 158.

The Builders shot a 321 round on Monday to take second place with a 663 team total.  They finished 10 shots behind Lynchburg College "A" team who carded a 314 on Monday for a 653 tournament total.

Coming in third was Ferrum College who overtook Stevenson for third place with a 326 on Monday for a two-day 677, while Stevenson was fourth with a 343 for a 686 total.  Lynchburg B team was fifth with a 336 for a 688 and Virginia Wesleyan shot 342 on Monday for a 702 tournament total.

Daniel Campbell was next in line for the Builders with a 79 on Monday for a 164 total and a share of sixth place individually.  Kyle Mutter followed with a 78 for a 168 total and a share of ninth place.  Kyle Radcliff was next for the Builders with an 86 to finish out the 321 team round on Monday.

The Builders will host the Builder Spring Fling on Friday at Sleepy Hole Golf Course in Suffolk starting at noon.
