Golf Team Leads Glenn Heath Memorial After Round One

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – With three golfers finishing in the top nine after round one, the Apprentice School shot a 316 on Monday to lead the Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial Tournament by four strokes heading into Tuesday's final round at Fords Colony's Marsh Hawk course.

Freshman Ben Hunter is second overall with a four-over-par 76, while senior Daniel Campbell is in a four-way tie for fifth place at 78 and freshman Kyle Mutter is alone in ninth place with a 79.  Sophomore Michael Hastings is in a tie for 21st with an 83 to finish out the 316 round for Apprentice School.

Hunter trails Conrad Anguera of Lynchburg College who shot a two-over-par 74 to lead individually.  Anguera won the individual medalist honor in last year's event.

The Builders lead SUNY Delhi by four strokes and Lynchburg by seven strokes heading into Tuesday's final round over the 6,650 yard, par-72 Marsh Hawk Golf Course.
