Golfers Lead After Abbreviated Round One At Danville CC Dual

YANCEYVILLE, N.C. -- The Apprentice School golf team once again got hit by the weather bug in a round as the first day of its dual match with Danville CC was abbreviated to nine holes due to tornado activity near Yanceyville, N.C.

All but the final group of the day got 18 holes in before golfers were pulled off the course due to impending nasty weather.  So only the front nine holes counted for day one totals and the Builders shot a 157 - 13 over par, to lead on the Caswell Pines Golf Course.

Freshman Kyle Mutter shares the first round lead with Richard Dunn and Richard Barrick of Danville CC with a two-over-par 38.  Fellow freshman Ben Hunter was in a tie for fourth with senior Daniel Campbell at 39, while sophomore Kyle Radcliff is in sixth to lead Apprentice Gold with a 40.

The final round will take place in Danville, Va. at Goodyear Golf Course starting at 10 am on Sunday.
