Ben Hunter Named USCAA Co-Golfer Of The Week

Sophomore Ben Hunter was named on Tuesday as the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Co-Golfer Of The Week for his pair of top 12 performances in tournaments from Sept. 26-Oct. 2.

Hunter, a sophomore rigger apprentice from Suffolk, Va., was tied for fifth at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational (Sept. 26-27) after finishing the tournament with the low round of the second day at a two-under-par 70.  At the Ted Keller Invitational (Oct. 1-2), Hunter finished tied for 11th after having the third lowest final found at a three-over-par 75.

For the fall he is averaging 75.9 per round to rank in the top five in the USCAA in scoring average.  He has a pair of medalist honors along with three top-five finishes and four top 10 finishes.

Hunter is the defending USCAA National Champion and will look to repeat that honor on October 10-11 as the Builders conclude their fall slate at the USCAA National Championships in State College, Pa.
