Golfers Lead Virginia Wesleyan Invitational After Round One
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. -- The Apprentice School golf team survived a rain-delayed start and hold a one stroke lead after day one of the Virginia Wesleyan Marlin Invitational at Virginia Beach National on Saturday.
Sophomore Ben Hunter leads the tournament after round one with a one-under par 71 on a rain-soaked 6,502-yard course.  He leads Adam Sauls of Virginia Wesleyan and Matt Lipscomb of Lynchburg by one stroke heading into Sunday's final round.
Kyle Mutter is next for the Builders with a 79, followed by Eric Johnston (82) and Kyle Radcliff (83) for the counting scores. Virginia Wesleyan is second with a 316, while Lynchburg was third at 319.
The tournament concludes on Sunday with a 10 am start.
