Rain Cancels Final Round Of Marlin Invitational -- Builders Win Tournament

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. -- The Apprentice School golf team won and lost on Sunday in Virginia Beach at the Marlin Invitational.  They lost the final round to Mother Nature but won the Marlin Invitational.

The Builders carded a 315 in Saturday's first round to edge the host Virginia Wesleyan Marlins (316) and Lynchburg College (319). Its the first tournament title for the Builders under head coach Joey Maben.  Sophomore Ben Hunter earned medalist honors with a one-under par 71 on a wet 6,502-yard course.

Apprentice School will now participate next weekend in the Lynchburg College Hornet Invitational in Forest, Va.
