Golf Team Finishes Third At Lynchburg Invitational - Hunter Medalist

FOREST, VA. -- The Apprentice School golf team finished third on Monday at the Lynchburg Invitational in Forest, Va. as Ben Hunter was named medalist in the event.

Hunter shot an 81 on Monday over the 6,985-yard, par-72 London Downs Golf Course to win the medalist honor with a 151 total.  Curtis Newsome was next in line for the Builders with an 83 for a 175, while Kyle Mutter shot an 84 on Monday for a 167 total and Eric Johnston followed with an 88 for a 178 total.

Ferrum College won the team event with a 314 on Monday for a 643 total.  The host Lynchburg College Hornets shot 318 on Monday for a 651, followed by the Builders with a 335 for a 674 and Va. Wesleyan College at 345 for a 685 total.

The first Apprentice School Spring Fling will be next for the team on Friday at Sleepy Hole Golf Course in Suffolk.
