SUFFOLK, VA. – Junior Ben Hunter blistered a soggy Sleepy Hole Golf Course on Wednesday for a five-under-par 67 as the Apprentice School started its 2012 fall season with a dual match win over Louisburg College.  The Builders combined for a 300 round with the Hurricanes coming in at 311.

Hunter's round, which included eight birdies and three bogeys, was capped with a chip-in par on the 18^th hole to better the previous record of 68 shared by Brandon Rudisill in 2007 and current assistant coach BJ Maben in 2005.  Maben was with him on the 18th hole when Hunter chipped in from 30-feet to break the record.

The 300 for the team tied the fourth lowest round in the last 12 years.  It tied a round shot in the Apprentice School Spring Invitational in 2009.

Sophomore Kyle Mutter was next for the Builders at even-par 72, while freshman Harrison Baker carded a 79 in his first collegiate round.  Fellow freshman Eric Johnston rounded out the four counting scorers for the Builders with an 82. Louisburg was paced by Zack Robins with a three-under-par 69 with Cal Addy following at a 78.

The Builders now travel to Winchester, Va. on September 9-10 for the Shenandoah Invitational at Winchester Country Club.
