Golf Team Opens Hampden-Sydney Invitational With 347 Round

FARMVILLE, VA. -- The Apprentice School golf team opened play on Monday at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational and had a hard day on the course finishing with a 347 round.

Junior Ben Hunter was the low man for the Builders on Monday as he carded a 12-over-par 84 on the 7,100-yard, par-72 Manor Golf Course.  Freshman Harrison Baker was next with an 85 and sophomore Kyle Mutter followed with an 86.  Eric Johnston was the final scorer for the Builders with a 92.

AS a team, the Builders sit in ninth place but are five strokes from moving up to seventh in the tean-team event.  Hampden-Sydney College leads the event with a 304, followed by Ferrum College (312) and Bridgewater College (313).

The final round will tee-off starting at 8:30 am Tuesday morning.
