Golf Cards 333 In Round One Of Lynchburg Invitational To Share Lead

FOREST, VA. -- The Apprentice School golf team survived in a cold, drizzly rain at the Lynchburg Invitational to total a 333 round at London Downs Golf Course on Sunday to share the lead after round one.

Junior Kyle Mutter was the low man for the Builders on Sunday with a six-over-par 78 on the 6,938 yard course.  Sophomore Eric Johnston was next with an 83 and junior Ben Hunter followed at 85.  Sophomore Cody Griffith carded an 87 for the 333 total.  Apprentice School shares the lead with host Lynchburg College.

B.J. Kuhn of Liberty leads the medalist race with a 77, followed by Mutter and Jacob Mast from Liberty at 79 round out the top three.  

Trailing the Builders and Hornets are Eastern Mennonite University (340) and Marymount University (349).

The final round will start at 10 am on Monday.
