Golf Team Starts Year With Tri-Match Win

CLAYTON, NC – The Apprentice School golf team opened its 2013-14 season on Thursday with a tri-match win over Surry CC and Johnston CC at Pine Hollow Golf Course.

Senior Ben Hunter shot a low round of 70 to win medalist honors as the Builders carded a 306 total over the 6,508-yard, par-71 course.  Junior Kyle Mutter was next with a 74, followed by junior Eric Johnston at 79 and freshman Brett Denson came in with an 83 for the 306 total.

Surry CC was next just four strokes behind at 310 with host Johnston CC finishing the day with a 331 total.

These same teams will play another match on Friday at Bull Creek GC in Louisburg, NC.
