IN BRIEF

The Apprentice School shot a season-low 331 on Saturday to sit in 17th place after round one of the Tom Kinder Memorial.  Tournament host Bridgewater College leads the event with a seven-over-par total of 295 with Hampden-Sydney College right behind at 296 and Roanoke College rounding the top three at a 301 total.

Ben Hunter is tied for 14th overall with a two-over-par 74.  He is three shots off the lead heading into Sunday's 8:30 am shotgun start for the final round.

ON THE COURSE

  • Hunter had a run of four straight birdies to stabilize a round where he sits only three shots off the individual lead.
  • Kyle Mutter was next for the Builders coming in tied for 27th with a 77. 
  • Three first-year players are seeing initial action on the collegiate tournament scene.  Jordan Ritz came in with an 89, while Brett Denson (91) and Chris Davis (97) rounded out the Builders.

FINAL ROUND

The tournament concludes with an 8:30 am shotgun start on Sunday morning.
