Golf Team Finishes Sixth At Hampden-Sydney Invitational

IN BRIEF: Senior Ben Hunter shot a three-over-par 75 on Tuesday as the Apprentice School finished alone in sixth place at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational held at The Manor Golf Course in Farmville.

The Builders shot 336 on Tuesday to finish the event at 671 to lead Eastern Mennonite by eight shots and Lynchburg College, who was tied with the Builders after Monday's round one, by 19.  Ferrum College won the event firing a two-over-par 290 on Tuesday to total 583.  The host Hampden-Sydney College was next with 611 and Bridgewater was third in the nine-team event with 623.

BEHIND THE SCORECARD

Kyle Mutter was next in line for the Builders with his second straight round of 82 to finish tied for 24th at 164. 

Eric Johnston was next after a 90 on Tuesday to finish alone in 33rd with a 171 total. 

Jordan Ritz shaved 10 strokes off his round on Tuesday as he shot an 89 to finish in 40th place with a 188.

The Builders will next compete on October 7-8 in State College, PA at the 2013 U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships.
