ON THE COURSE: The Apprentice School golf team closed out its 2014 Spring opening weekend as they finished second in a four-team match that was held on the General James Hackler Golf Course on the campus of Coastal Carolina University on Sunday.
The Builders Maroon team combined for a 330 score, while the gold team came in with a 377. Senior Ben Hunter was the low man for the Builders, and second in the event, with a five-over-par 77. Kyle Mutter followed with a 79 and Eric Johnston added an 84 to lead the Gold team. Brett Denson and Chris Davis shared top honors for the gold team with 93.
Surry Community College won the event with a 319, while Johnston Community College was third with a 346. Ryan Wilson of Surry was the medalist with a four-over-par 76.
