IN BRIEF: The Apprentice School golf team dropped a stroke off its score from Sunday and managed to stay in fifth place to finish the Lynchburg College Invitational on Monday.

ON THE COURSE

• The Builders finished Monday with a 333 total to end the tournament with a 667 team score.  That kept them in fifth place and one stroke ahead of the tournament hosts Lynchburg College who came in on Monday with a 330 round for a 668 total.
• Senior Ben Hunter dropped a stroke from his Sunday round as he ended the event with a four-over-par 76 to come in with a 153 total and tied for fifth.
• Junior Eric Johnston shaved five strokes off his Sunday round on Monday as he finished with a 78 to end the event with a 161 and tied for 16th.
• Freshman Austin Robbins matched his Sunday round as he came in with an 87 to finish at 174 and in a tie for 27th.
• Fellow freshman Russell Fields ended his tournament with a 92 on Monday to finish at 179 and in a tie for 35th.
• SUNY Delhi B team shot a blistering 307 on Monday to overtake its A team and win the event by 10 strokes with a 620 total.  The A team of SUNY Delhi was second (630), followed by Bluefield State (635) and Averett University B team (658) before the Builders.

NEXT UP - MARINE INTERCOLLEGIATE

The Builders will venture this coming weekend to Camp Lejeune, N.C. to particpate in the 43rd Intercollegiate Golf Championship held at Camp Lejeune.  This prestigious event is the first time the Builders have been invited to this event that has all the top NAIA/NCAA Division III teams from around the south.
