Six Apprentice School student-athletes were recognized on Thursday by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association by being named to the Academic All-State team. Over 220 student-athletes from 38 schools across Virginia were recognized.
To make the team a student-athlete had to have at least a 3.25 grade point average and be a sophomore or higher eligibility.
Forrest Barefoot, Junior, Yorktown, VA, 3.84, Welder, Golf
- Shot a season best 92 in the opening match of the fall season.
Brittanie Herriott, Senior, Virginia Beach, VA, 3.62, Maintenance Electrician, Women's Basketball
- Scored a season high 12 points in home win over Briarcliffe College.
Sam Massie, Junior, Hampton, VA, 3.62, Electrician, Baseball
- Three-time USCAA All-American, set school record for single season saves with seven this spring.
Kyle Mutter, Junior, Portsmouth, VA, 3.61, Coating Specialist, Golf
- Three-time USCAA All-American – won medalist honors at Va. Wesleyan Marlin Invitational
Cody Norris, Junior, Yorktown, VA, 3.77, Dimensional Control Tech, Baseball
- Drove in a run against Alfred State and had a double against Southern Maine CC.
Josh Rodriguez, Sophomore, Virginia Beach, VA, 4.0, Electrician, Wrestling
- Went 28-14 at 197 pounds winning 14 of his matches by fall.
