Golf Team Sits Eighth At Shenandoah Invitational After Round One

IN BRIEF: The Apprentice School golf team finished the first round of the Shenandoah University Invitational with a 319 round that has them sitting in eighth place in the 10-team event.

ON THE COURSE

  • Senior Kyle Mutter is in a five-way tie for eighth place after round one as he shot a three-over-par 74 to lead the Builders.
  • Freshman Perry Barber is sitting in 13th place as he finished with a 75, while fellow freshman Phillip Nelson saw his first action of the season and came in with an 81.
  • Rounding out the scorers for the Builders on Saturday were sophomore Chris Davis (89) and freshman Tim Moore (90).
  • Shepherd University leads the tournament with a five-over-par 289, while the hosts Hornets are sitting three strokes behind with their "A" team. 


FINAL ROUND

A shotgun start will get the tournament going on Sunday morning at 8 am.
