EVENT: Virginia State Golf Association Intercollegiate

IN BRIEF: Senior Kyle Mutter finished with a seven-over-par 79 to lead the Builders on Sunday afternoon as they shot a 335 in the first round of the Virginia State Golf Association State Intercollegiate Championships held at Olde Mill Golf Course.

ON THE COURSE

• Roanoke College leads the ten-team field with a 307 total, while the Builders came in with a 335 score.
• The remaining Builders all came in between 85-89 over the 6,800 yard mountainous Olde Mill Golf Course.
• Freshmen Perry Barber and Phillip Nelson shot 85 each, while fellow freshman Tim Moore rounded out the counting scorers with an 86.  Sophomore Toby Tapman shot an 89 as the fifth member today.

FINAL ROUND

A shotgun start will get the final tournament round going on Monday morning at 9:30 am.
