Golf Team Sits 11th At Roanoke Invitational

IN BRIEF: The Apprentice School golf team opened action on Friday morning in the Roanoke College Invitational and recorded a 354 total to sit in 11th place.

ON THE COURSE

 

  • Perry Barber and Tim Moore share low man honors for the Builders after round one with 14-over-par 86 to sit in a tie for 47th.
  • Phillip Nelson was next in line for the team as he is alone in 56th place with a 90.
  • Forrest Barefoot rounded out the counting scorers with a 92 to sit tied for 57th place.
  • Chris Davis is a stroke behind Barefoot in a tie for 60th with a 93.

 

TEAM RACE

Ferrum College leads the 14-team race coming in at 10-over-par 298 to hold a one-stroke lead on Randolph-Macon College.  A group of four teams are three strokes off each other with Hampden-Sydney College in third (312), Roanoke College in fourth (314) and tied for fifth is Bridgewater College and Averett University (315).

SECOND ROUND

Final round will start at 9:30 am on Saturday.
