Builders Finish Strong at Camp Lejune Invitational

RECAP: At the end of the 1st Round the Builders had a total team score of 351. The Builders fought hard but found themselves in a hole in the Gold Standings after Day 1. Austin Saylor led the Builders at the end of Day 1 with a score of 79. Methodist University sat atop of the standings with a team score of 296. 

After the 2nd round on Saturday, the Builders showed much improvement from Day 1. The Builders finished with a team score of 298 which was good for the 5th best score out of 14 teams in the Gold Standings. Austin Saylor had another strong day as the Junior from Smithfield, VA led the Builders with a score of 73. One highlight of the weekend was junior, Jordan Plogger. Jordan shot a 89 on the 1st Day and turned it around with an impressive score of 75 in both of the two final rounds. 

Day 3 was another success as the Builders finished with a team score of 304. Banner Robson and Jordan Plogger led the Builders with a score of 75 each. The 304 on Day 3 kept the team's average score at 317. An average of 317 is below the team's goal of 80 per player. Coach Joey Maben considered this weekend to be a great success for his team.
