Apprentice School Men's Golf Announces All Decade Team

Player of the Decade

 

Ben Hunter(2010-2014) – 2020 Apprentice School Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee. Two-time USCAA National Champion. Holds the Apprentice School record for career low average. 2013-2014 Apprentice School Athlete of the Year. First Builder to win the Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial Tournament and helped lead the Builders to their first Glenn Heath Title. He won 18 medalist titles in his career and finished with a 75.7 stroke average for almost 90 rounds of golf as a Builder.  

 All Decade Team Captain

Jordan Plogger (2016-2020) – Plogger has left a major impact on the Apprentice School's Golf Program and will surely be missed by his coaches and teammates. He was known to always put his teammates first and would routinely lend a hand to help in any way possible. His coaches have said that he made their jobs easier and was an exceptional communicator.

 

All Decade First Team

Ben Hunter (2010-2014) – Four-time USCAA All-American posted a school-best 75.7 average. Had four top three finishes at the USCAA Nationals, where he captured individual titles in his freshman and senior seasons. He was also recognized as Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State First Team twice.  

 Kyle Mutter (2010-2015) Three-time USCAA All-American recorded a career average of 78.3 with a low round of 71.

 

 

 Perry Barber (2014-2018) – One-time USCAA Second Team All-American had a career average of 79.8 with a low round of 71.

 

 

 Austin Saylor (2016-2020) – 2019 USCAA All-American after finishing as the Runner-Up with a career low round of 70 at the USCAA National Tournament. Posted a career average of 80.2.

 

 Wade Traynham (2009-2011) – Traynham had a career average of 80.7 with a low round of 69.

 

 

Jordan Plogger (2016-2020) – As a freshman, had the first hole-in-one in modern-day Apprentice School history at the Surry CC Tri Match (9/24/16). Career average of 81.1 and had a low round of 74.

 

All Decade Second Team

 Banner Robson (2017-Present) – Currently has an 81.5 career average.

 

 

 Phillip Nelson (2014-2018) –Finished with a career average of 82.4.

 

 

 

 Dylan Hogge (2015-2018) – Posted a career scoring average of 83.4.

 

 

 

 Daniel Campbell (2007-2011) – Finished his career with an average of 84.

 

 

 

Michael Hastings (2009-2013) –For his career, had an average of 85.5.

 

 

 

 Kyle Radcliff (2008-2012) – Finished his career with an average of 86.4

 

Eric Johnston (2011-2014)- Eric averaged 83.38 and a low round of 72
