Builder Golf Finishes Third at USCAA Nationals; Flanders Named All-American

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Apprentice School golf team wrapped up play at the USCAA National Championships, jumping up one spot to third after the final round Tuesday.

The Builders shot 320 in the final round, four shots better than Monday's opening round to edge out PSU Hazleton by a single shot on the final leaderboard. Johnson & Wales ran away from the pack to secure the team national championship, besting the field by 24 shots.

Individually, Ethan Flanders earned first team All-American honors by finishing in a tie for sixth after a final round 78. Kai Crockett finished just two shots out of All-American status in a tie for 17th place on the leaderboard.

Richard Locklin and Alex Palus were each named to the National All-Academic list with Locklin also winning the putting contest after Monday's round. Jeremy Carr won the off the fairway long drive in the skills competition as well.

The Builders will wrap up the fall season next week as they play host to the VSGA State Championship at Sleepy Hole Monday and Tuesday.
