TIGERVILLE, SC - Homestanding North Greenville University used a 23-9 run over a 10 minute span of the second half pulled the Crusaders away from a pesky Apprentice School Lady Builder squad for a 73-63 victory on Saturday.
Apprentice School senior Rahshann Lewter scored a season-high 23 points to lead four in double figures for the Lady Builders who trailed 29-27 at half. Tamara Davis added 14 points and seven rebounds, while Upenda Morton had 11 points and Valleri West chipped in 10.
In the second half, the Lady Builders scored eight of the first 12 points to take 35-33 lead on a Morton layup with 16:07 remaining. That turned into the last lead of the day for the Apprentice School as that lead turned into a 56-44 deficit with 6:01 left as Nikki Wood hit one of two from the foul line.
The Lady Builders will return home on Wednesday afternoon for a 4 pm start against Mount Olive College. The Lady Trojans will enter 4-1 after falling 78-70 to St. Augustine's on Saturday.
