PETERSBURG, VA. -- The Apprentice School women's basketball team concluded a six-game stretch against NCAA Division II opposition by pushing Virginia State University on its home floor but falling 67-56 on Saturday.
Freshman Tamara Davis was the leading scorer for the Lady Builders with 19 points and six rebounds, while sophomore Valleri West added 14 points. Senior Rahshann Lewter continued her solid play at the point guard spot with 13 points, five rebounds and six assists. Freshman LaTorya Grimes was the leading rebounder for Apprentice School (3-8) with 10.
Apprentice School will now travel to Lexington, Va. on December 30 for a 5 pm matchup with Washington & Lee University to close out the first half of the season.
