AUBURN, MAINE – The Apprentice School used a 10-0 run early in the second half and pulled away for an 86-62 win over U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association member Central Maine CC on Sunday.
The host Mustangs hung around through the first half and took a 33-31 lead into the locker room. A three-point play by Courtney Collins put the Lady Builders ahead 45-42 with 14 minutes left. From there the Apprentice School outscored CMCC 41-20 to take the win.
Junior Tamara Davis had a career-high 29 points to go with 15 rebounds and a career-high seven steals as the Lady Builders shot 57.5% from the floor in the second half (23-of-40) to take the win. Collins and Danita Whitaker added 17 apiece, while Whitaker had her second double-double of the weekend with 14 rebounds.
Apprentice School comes home for the Great Ships Classic as they host Briarcliffe College starting at 8 pm on Friday night.
