SEAFORD, N.Y. -- The host Briarcliffe Seahawks slowly pulled away in the second half to defeat the Apprentice School 69-59 on Sunday afternoon.
Briarcliffe rallied from an early deficit and took a lead with three minutes left in the first half. They took a four-point advantage into the locker room. Shenita Urquhart and Simone Thomas scored 13 points apiece for Briarcliffe.
In the second half, the Lady Builders could not get over the hump and lost a ten-point decision. Tysheka Simpson scored 14 points and Ashley Johnson added 11 for Apprentice (12-6) who now travels to NCAA Division II Washington Adventist on Wednesday night in Takoma Park, Md.
