Lady Builders Earn Bid To 2011 USCAA National Championships

Lady Builders Earn Bid To 2011 USCAA National Championships

For the ninth time in school history and the first since the 2008-09 season, the Apprentice School Lady Builders have earned a bid to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships.  The tournament begins on March 2 and runs through March 5 in Uniontown, Pa.

Apprentice School (15-8) earned the 10th seed in the 12-team event and will play the seventh-seeded Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions on Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 pm.  A win in that game will put the Lady Builders against second-seeded Rochester College in a 5 pm tip on March 3.  A loss will put Apprentice School against the loser of Briarcliffe College and Penn State Fayette at 3 pm on March 3.

Live stats and video will be available through the USCAA website (www.theuscaa.com).

The Apprentice School and Penn State Beaver have met twice before, including once at the USCAA Nationals.  Penn State Beaver scored a 59-58 win over Apprentice School in the opening game of the 2008-09 tournament at Uniontown, Pa.  They also defeated the Lady Builders in a tournament at Penn State Beaver the following season.

The Lady Builders are familiar with every team in its half of the draw as they have split a pair with Briarcliffe College, defeated Robert Morris University Springfield and Penn State Fayette and lost a game to Rochester College this season.

Apprentice School (15-8) has one last regular season game on Saturday when they host Berkeley College (NJ) in a 2 pm tipoff.
