Lady Builders End Regular Season With 96-38 Win Over Berkeley College

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. -- The Apprentice School Lady Builders ended their regular season on Saturday with a 96-38 win over Berkeley College on Senior Day at Apprentice Gym.

With pre-game ceremonies to honor the lone senior Tyisha Battle, the Lady Builders jumped out quickly racing to a 13-0 lead in the first seven minutes before a Rahinet Koti jumper put the Knights on the scoreboard.

A balanced Lady Builder attack was headed by freshman Danita Whitaker with 17 points and nine rebounds while Battle added 13 points in her final home contest.  Coming off the bench and scoring in double figures were junior Denise Hamilton with 12 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals while sophomore Jasmine Pringle with 10 points.  Whitaker shared the rebounding lead in the game with Tamara Davis who also had nine, while Christina Licano dished out nine assists and scored eight points.

Apprentice School (16-8) will now participate in the 2011 USCAA National Championships starting Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 pm against Penn State-Beaver in Uniontown, Pa.
