GREENSBORO, N.C. – Junior Jasmine Pringle scored 19 points to lead four in double figures for the Apprentice School Lady Builders as they outscored Bennett 44-21 in the second half to cruise to a 77-45 win on Saturday afternoon.
The win broke the school record for best start to a season as the Lady Builders are now 16-1. The 2000-01 team started the year 15-1 en route to a school record 24-3 season.
Apprentice School started slowly holding a 33-24 lead at the break and used a strong free throw performance to help pull away for the win as they were 22-of-29 from the foul line as a team.
Pringle also showed her long-range shooting touch hitting four-of five from 3-point range to lead the team. Her 19 points matched her career high as a freshman against Washington Adventist University. Senior Denise Hamilton added 17 points, going 7-of-8 from the line, sophomore Courtney Collins added 14 points and fellow sophomore Danita Whitaker added 12.
Apprentice School closes out its weekend swing in North Carolina visiting Barber-Scotia College for a 2 pm tip on Sunday afternoon.
