Second Half Flurry Leads Lady Builders Over Barber-Scotia 62-44

CONCORD, N.C. – Senior Denise Hamilton scored 10 of her 18 points in the first half, while sophomore Courtney Collins and senior Tamara Davis scored all of their points in the second half as the Apprentice School pulled away in the second half for a 62-44 win at Barber-Scotia College on Sunday.

The Lady Builders opened the game holding the Sabers scoreless for the first eight minutes, but saw the hosts come back and chop a deficit to 24-20 at the half.  Hamilton topped the Lady Builders scoring in the first half with her 10 points.

In the second, the hosts took an early lead in the first minute of the half but Apprentice School turned the defensive pressure up and pulled away to take the win.  Collins scored all 15 of her points and Davis added all eight of hers in the final 20 minutes, while sophomore Danita Whitaker had 12 points.

Apprentice School (17-1) now will travel to Takoma Park, Md. on Wednesday to face NCAA Division II Washington Adventist University at 6:30 pm.
