Lady Builders 10-Game Winning Streak Snapped In 58-53 Loss At Briarcliffe

SEAFORD, NY -- The Apprentice School Lady Builders saw their 10-game winning streak snapped on Saturday night losing to fourth-ranked Briarcliffe College 58-53 in Seaford, NY.

Apprentice School, which entered the contest ranked second in the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association, trailed 30-22 at the half and fell behind 38-24 with 16:33 left.  The Lady Builders made a run chopping the lead down to 39-36 with 12:21 left.

Briarcliffe kept the guests at arms length pushing the lead back up nine points at 52-43 with five minutes left, but the Lady Builders made one last flurry cutting the lead to 52-51 with 3:44 left.  Ifeanyi Ofili was a key component in helping Briarcliffe (16-4) hold off a late charge by scoring a game-high 29 points.

Shanae Hilliard was the leading scorer for Apprentice School (20-2) with 12 points and Tamara Davis added 10 for the Lady Builders who will face Berkeley College on Sunday at 1 pm to close out its final road-trip of the regular season.
