Williams Jumper With 30 Seconds Left Lifts Lady Builders Over Berkeley 59-58

NEW YORK, NY -- The Apprentice School Lady Builders rebounded from a tough loss on Saturday night to take a 59-58 victory over Berkeley College (NY) on Sunday at Baruch College.

Martika Williams hit a 15-foot jumper with 32.3 seconds left and the Lady Builders held off two final attempts from the Knights to take the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association victory.

After a tight first half that saw the Lady Builders hold a 31-27 lead, the Knights took a 47-43 lead with nine minutes left.  Apprentice School cut the margin to 58-57 with 75 seconds left.  Williams put the Lady Builders up with a 15-foot jumper and then the defense held on forcing two missed shots in the final 30 seconds for the win.

Shanae Hilliard was the leading scorer with 14 points, while Tamara Davis and Ashley Johnson chipped in with 12 and Jasmine Pringle added 11 for the Lady Builders who are now 21-2 on the year.

Apprentice School is now off until Feb. 26 when they face Virginia University of Lynchburg at 2 pm on Senior Day.
