Lady Builders Season Ends In 82-75 Loss To Lindenwood-Belleville

UNIONTOWN, PA. -- Ashley Will scored 33 points and Brooke Dunning added 25 as seventh-seeded Lindenwood-Belleville defeated the Apprentice School 82-75 in a consolation game at the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Nationals on Thursday morning.

In a game that saw nine ties and 18 lead changes, the first half saw neither team hold more than a four-point lead over the first 15 minutes.  Apprentice School went on a 14-7 flurry to close the half from the 4:48 mark as Ashley Johnson's jumper with four seconds left put Apprentice ahead 43-36.

The second half saw the Lynx go on a 13-4 run over a six minute span to take a 58-52 lead on a Jane Milligan layup with 9:43 left.  Apprentice School responded quickly with the next seven points as Courtney Collins hit a short jumper to lead 59-58 with 8:35 left.

No one held more than a three-point lead over the next six minutes as Jasmine Pringle drained a 3-pointer to put the Lady Builders up 72-71 with 2:29 left.  From there, the Lynx closed the deal with an 11-3 run as a 3-point play from Will started the spurt with 1:54 left to put them ahead to stay.

Collins was the leading scorer for the Lady Builders with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Denise Hamilton added 18 and eight boards, Pringle with 13 points and Johnson chipped in 10.  Apprentice School ended their season with the second most wins in school history at 23-4.
