Lady Builders Fall 66-54 To Carlow

MCKEESPORT, PA. – Carlow University used a 10-0 run over a 3:45 span early in the second half to pull away from the Apprentice School on Saturday for a 66-54 victory in the Penn State Greater Allegheny USCAA Tipoff Tournament.

Apprentice School tied the score on three occasions in the first half, but could never take the lead.  Senior Jasmine Pringle drained a 3-pointer with 6:28 left in the opening half to tie the game at 17-all.  That was the final time the game was tied as Carlow used a 10-2 run over the next 2:41 to take a 27-19 lead on a pair of free throws from Erin Disanti.

In the second half, the Lady Builders cut the lead to 37-33 on an April McCoy jumper with 17:23 left.  Carlow put the game out of reach with the 10-0 run capped by an Erin Disanti layup with 13:38 left to lead 47-33.

McCoy was the leading scorer for Apprentice School with 11 points, while Pringle and Danita Whitaker added nine each.  Apprentice School returns home for the Great Ships Classic where they'll face Penn State Fayette on November 16 at 8 pm.
