Lady Builders Hit Big Apple For 3-Game New York Swing

The Apprentice School Lady Builders hit the Big Apple this weekend for three U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association games starting Friday night with Briarcliffe College at Island Gardens in West Hempstead, NY.

Apprentice School (5-7) enters this weekend after a tough 52-49 loss on Tuesday night at in-state rival Southern Virginia.  Junior Danita Whitaker was the leading scorer for the Lady Builders with 15 points and 13 rebounds coming off the bench.

Briarcliffe (5-5) comes into the weekend after defeating St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn 84-66 on Wednesday night at Brooklyn Tech High School.  Andrea Desvignes paced five in double figures for Briarcliffe with 19 points, while Teresa Mangan had 19 for St. Joseph's.  

On Saturday, the Lady Builders will take on St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn (6-8) in a 7:30 pm tip which will be the second game of a doubleheader at Brooklyn Tech. 

The weekend will close with the Lady Builders playing Berkeley College (NY) in a 1pm tip at Hostos Community College in New York City.  Berkeley is currently 6-4 after winning a pair of games last weekend at the New Hampshire Technical Institute tournament.

Apprentice School will finally hit the home floor again next Friday night with the third annual Martin Luther King Classic starting at 6pm against Barber-Scotia College.
